UNECE facilitates greater economic integration and cooperation and promotes sustainable development in the pan-European region. UNECE provides secretariat for the Water Convention and its Protocol on Water and Health and has been successfully supporting the Eastern Partnership countries in advancing reforms in the water domain by promoting intersectoral and multistakeholder dialogues on integrated water resources management and water supply and sanitation and by facilitating transboundary cooperation.

INTERNATIONAL OFFICE for WATER
The International Office for Water (IOWater) is a non-profit association under French law declared to be in the public interest by the Decree of 13 September 1991. It aimed to develop skills for better water management in France, Europe and worldwide by intervening in the training of water professionals, dissemination and sharing of knowledge or data as well as institutional support projects for countries.

The Artois-Picardie water agency
The Artois-Picardie Water Agency is a public institution of the Ministry in charge of Ecology and Sustainable Development. It is one of the 6 French water agencies created by the water law of 1964. The water agency participates in the implementation of national policies related to water and aquatic environments. With the adoption of the Water Framework Directive in October 2000, these policies are themselves part of the objectives of the European Union.


BENEFICIARIES

EUWI+ is designed to support water policy reform in the six EaP countries: Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Georgia, the Republic of Moldova and Ukraine. The European Neighbourhood Policy (ENP) provides a framework for closer relations between the EU and its neighbouring countries.
