World Water Day: Improving information sharing on water to fight climate change

The European Union supports Azerbaijan's commitment to improve water management information and transparency regarding water management

The web portal of the hydro-meteorological service at the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources of Azerbaijan provides its citizens with all of the weather information they need.

In the framework of the European Union Water Initiative Plus, Azerbaijan is now working on a new web portal dedicated to water issues in the country. This water resources web portal will be part of the official website of the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources of Azerbaijan (MENR).

The new tool is being created to facilitate public access to information on water resources. The special webpage will help spread information on Integrated Water Resources Management, River Basin Management Plan, water monitoring and other activities.

The mechanism will also allow the Ministry to share information and communicate with practitioners involved in Integrated Water Resources Management in the country.

The plan is to publish the webpage in Azerbaijani and English, and display information on legal and institutional aspects of water management, international conventions and agreements in the field, and water monitoring and uses (including maps).
