Moldova (Environment Agency of Moldova) and EUWI+ (Austrian Environment Agency, one of the EU Water Initiative's implementing partners) signed the 15 of November 2018 a framework agreement relating to the procurement of supply, works and service. This agreement permits, as for the six partner countries, to start tender procedure and to purchase in 2019 for labs modern equipment for improving monitoring of surface and ground waters in the line with WDF and national Water Law
Monitoring of the water status plays a key role in the implementation of the European Water Framework Directive (WFD) in setting out the requirements for the monitoring of surface water status, groundwater status and protected areas. The objective of monitoring is to establish an overview within River Basin Districts to permit the assessment of all surface water bodies and groundwater.
EUWI+ project contributes to further strengthen the technical capacities of state laboratories involved in regulatory water monitoring in terms of equipment, maintenance, consumables, accreditation and related trainings.
