The workshop aimed at analysing the role of basin management organisations and the preparation of public consultations. Both are key elements for stakeholder involvement in water management, also called “Participative River Basin Management Planning”.

The Head of the State Agency for Water Resources of Ukraine, Irina Ovcharenko, was present and insisted on the importance to make Basin Council an effective tool to express the views of all water users.
The workshop resulted in fruitful exchanges between participants, who asked to pursue training on these topics and especially on coordination between the heads of basin councils and within basin councils.
